this is like, remarkably good. damn. I mean, it's a fairly simple 'what if?' type story, but at the same time it's distinctive from practically every other fic I've read. for one thing, he didn't go and join the band just because cassie and he had broken up. for another, he and brendon didn't really even get together at the end, though they're technically the main couple in the story. that's what I expected, and what most people probably would predict, but you didn't follow that path.

this whole thing is really just so realistic and I love it to bits. amazing writing!
