This is really nicely written and I like how well-rounded the characterisations are, no big melodramatics but people dealing with growing up. I like that you end with Jon being at peace with his choices, rather than handwaving it all away in a "and then he joined the band" - which, to be honest, I was kinda expecting! I'm glad you didn't. :)
